My 5 Favorite Views of the Golden Gate Bridge

Here are 5 of my favorite views of the Golden Gate Bridge. All locations are free, which makes it even better!

1. Marin County (Marin Headlands)

This is probably the most popular view of the Golden Gate Bridge. You get so close, your pictures end up looking like you’re in front of a green screen! There are a ton of easy trails around marin county too, so I reccomend exploring the area! Parking is free, but will be packed on a weekend. Make sure to come early!

2. Crissy Fields
Whether you’re with family or alone, come here on a nice sunny day, have a picnic, and ride a bike (or walk) along the waterfront. There’s plenty of free parking (I believe Fort Point is one of them), other lots will charge.

3. Golden Gate Bridge

Walk or drive through the Golden Gate Bridge because what better way to see it than to be ON it?!

4. Battery Park (Battery Godfrey)

Love this view! Definitely a different perspective of the Golden Gate Bridge. Parking is free on Lincoln and Langdon Court. Explore this whole area, there are a few trails you can do.

5. Marshall’s Beach

The view of the Golden Gate Bridge from Marshall’s Beach is probably my favorite. Park (free) on Lincoln and Langdon right next to Battery Park. The trail will be on the left (if you’re facing the ocean) and follow signs for Marshall’s Beach. You’ll be walking down a few flight of stairs, but it’s totally worth it because you get this gorgeous view!

I’m sure there are a lot of other cool spots, these are just the ones I know and love. If you have a location that’s not listed above, feel free to comment below! I’d love to know your favorites!

Gorgeous photos! I’m going to San Francisco soon and had already planned to visit at least two of these places, but might just add a third ond 😉

I visited San Francisco many years ago and sadly, I misesd seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful image of it. By the way, I happened to watch Rick Steves’ Europe last week and he visited Lisbon. Did you know that the cousin bridge of the Golden Gate is there? It’s the 25 de Abril Bridge.
